Remember those apps we promised? You can grab them now, if you have an Android or Blackberry smartphone...
December 2011 PPVs – Stipulations! Gimmicks! and Props! (Oh My!)
With wrestling writers hinting at a reduction in the number of pay-per-views (at least, ones we have to pay for) in 2012, WWE's year full of stipulation shows on pay-per-view may be a thing of the past soon. Whilst we wait for that to bear fruit though, 2011 ends with a pay-per-view based on a stipulation.
WWE Raw – London, England (11/11/11)
House show report, cross-posted from TheIanHamilton.com... The show was almost sold out, I’d guess around 17,000 sold (from around 18,000 available). As with all of the other shows, there were a lot of kids present, and the merchandise was selling very well.
Android Aware? Blackberry Bearing?
One to keep an eye out on - the Wrestling Rule Book website will soon be coming out with our very own app!
November 2011 Speciality Matches
It's November - which means that it's time for the Survivor Series! Well... it almost wasn't this year...
September 2011 PPV Speciality Matches… and an update (since there’s none!)
At least on the national/mainstream scene, it seems that the WWE and TNA bookers are adopting the KISS strategy (Keep It Simple, as opposed to anything inspired by Gene Simmons!) of booking this month, with no unusual stipulation matches being booked so far for the WWE's Night of Champions or TNA's No Surrender pay-per-views.
Battle Royal – Which Is Better?
The phrase "battle royal" in wrestling usually means one thing: a mass of humanity trying to throw everyone else over the top rope and onto the floor (or just out of the ring, if it's a women's match!)
One on One – Your Thoughts?
One of the things this project is looking at is the relative proliferation of stipulations and gimmicks on wrestling cards - but it's important to look back at the more simple side of wrestling, and matches where you don't need a MENSA membership to understand how you've got to win.
Tournament: Bound For Glory – sooner than you think!
Okay, so TNA have been pushing their Bound for Glory Series for many weeks now. Originally, the round-robin style tournament consisted of 12 wrestlers, with points being awarded to each wrestler depending on the results of their matches.
